Home remedies for hangovers can sometimes by hard to swallow when you’re feeling miserable, but most of them lead to quick relief after a night of too much drinking. Hangovers have lots of symptoms, including a headache, queasy stomach, body aches, fatigue and light and sound sensitivity. The two worst symptoms are usually the pounding headache and severe nausea that can lead to vomiting.

Of course, one of the best home remedies for hangovers is prevention. Drink moderately and remember to eat some food while drinking to slow down the processing of the alcohol. Also remember to drink plenty of water – a full glass of water between each alcoholic beverage is a good idea.

Some people say you can prevent a hangover by taking two Tylenol or other pain reliever with two full glasses of water before you start drinking alcohol. Others say that a B complex vitamin and vitamin C will help; both of these are vitamins you tend to lose when drinking too much, so replenishing them before heading out to party is a good idea.

Eating bananas is a another good home remedy for hangovers. Bananas are full of vitamins and are rich in potassium. Alcohol leeches away the potassium in your body and can cause a severe headache. Bananas can also be part of what is termed the BRAT diet (Bananas – Rice – Applesauce – Toast). Eating any of these foods when you have a hangover will help settle your stomach and give you some much needed energy.

Home Remedies for Hangovers You Can Drink

One of the easiest home remedies for hangovers is to simply flush the toxins from your system by drinking lots of water in the morning. If you can’t keep the water down or it isn’t appealing to you, try fresh squeezed orange juice, with will also help stabilize your blood sugar.

Ginger tea or ginger ale are both good home remedies for hangovers. The ginger naturally settles your stomach and the liquid re-hydrates you. An excellent hangover cure can be made by boiling 10-12 slices of ginger root in four cups of water. Remove the root and turn off the heat, then add the juice of one whole orange and half a lemon. Stir in one half cup of honey and drink a cup, repeating every half hour until your hangover is gone.

Some home remedies for hangovers are as simple as drinking Gatorade or other sports drinks. They quickly re-hydrate your body, restore your electrolytes and can even combat headaches.

If you prefer something a bit more soothing and warm, try mixing honey, lemon and hot water and sipping it slowly. Honey gives you energy while helping stabilize your blood alcohol and blood sugar levels.

You can easily get willow bark at a naturopath, and chewing on some willow bark for about ten to fifteen minutes will often alleviate the headache of a hangover.

One of the oldest home remedies for a hangover is the combination of a few cups of strong coffee and a cool shower. This actually works – the coffee helps reduce inflammation of blood vessels, thereby reducing your headache. The cool shower will help get rid of that flushed, feverish feeling and cool down your body.

Remember that drinking to excess is never a good idea, even if you try to take precautions like drinking a lot of water. When you do occasionally, overindulge, the home remedies for hangovers above should at least make your morning less unpleasant.

Millions of people suffer from headaches every day, but home remedies for headaches can alleviate the pain or at least diminish it in most cases. One of the best reasons to consider home remedies is that using over the counter or prescription pain killers can actually cause an increase in headaches over time. This rebound effect can mean that eventually you’ll be getting headaches almost daily.

Most headaches are tension headaches, but headaches can also be migraines or be caused by environmental factors like smoking, carbon monoxide and sudden changes in temperature. Fortunately, most home remedies for headaches will work regardless of the cause.

Acupressure can relieve a headache in just minutes and is particularly effective for tension headaches. Grasp the fold of flesh between the index finger and thumb and look for the sensitive spot just at the edge of the bone. Hold this down firmly for one to three minutes; you should feel the headache begin to fade almost immediately. If you have a headache at the back of the head or base of the skull, try putting pressure on the back of the neck just below where the skull ends and hold for several minutes.

If your headache is caused by tension, particularly from hunching over a computer or tensing up in general, loosening up your muscles can get rid of the pain. Try shrugging your shoulders up while you squeeze your eyes shut tightly. Now hold this for 5-10 seconds and release. Repeat this five or six times and you’ll discover that your headache is gone.

Sometimes just laying down in a cold, dark room is one of the best home remedies for headaches. You can also put a cold, damp rag on your forehead to increase the effectiveness. The cool air constricts blood vessels, helping to alleviate pain. A variation on this is to put a few drops of peppermint or clove oil on your forehead and temples. As it dries, the evaporation gives a wonderful, cooling sensation.

Dehydration is one of the most common causes of headaches. Home remedies for headaches often include drinking at least a full glass of water. Some people say adding a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to the water will help the headache go away faster. You can also drink Mountain Dew, coffee or tea to rehydrate; the caffeine is also very good for getting rid of headaches.

Home Remedies for Preventing Headaches

The best cure for headaches is actually preventing them, and there are lots of home remedies for headache prevention. Drinking several glasses of water every day keeps you hydrated and minimizes headaches. Also making sure you get plenty of iron will help, since iron deficiency sometimes causes headaches.

Migraine headaches are triggered by a variety of foods, so avoiding these triggers can help. The most common triggers are alcohol, chocolate, aged cheeses, and foods with nitrates such as bacon or sausage.

Keep in mind that home remedies for headaches work best if you lose them as soon as you get the headache. The longer you wait, the less effective they are.

You have an itchy, scratchy throat, stuffed up sinuses and feel tired and generally “icky.” Most likely you have the common cold, which is caused by one of hundreds of common viruses. Our home remedies for head colds can shorten the duration of a cold, but it won’t knock it out completely. You’ll just have to let this tiresome virus run its course, but with the right home remedies this will happen in just a few days rather than a few weeks!

Practical Home Remedies for Head Colds

You have to be practical when you have a head cold; your body will fight off the virus as best as it can, but pushing yourself too much will make your body work overtime. Instead, rest and relax so that your body’s natural immune system can focus on the virus. Lots of rest, including naps during the day and relaxing on the sofa for a day or two, will help you fight your cold. You should also drink lots of liquids to loosen up nasal congestion and keep your throat moisturized. Although you may be tempted to sniff a lot, it’s best to blow your nose frequently. This actually flushed the virus out of our system; but be sure to wash your hands after disposing of those tissues so you don’t pass the virus on to someone else!

Hot packs over your sinuses are a nice, relaxing hot shower will also loosen up congestion and help you get rid of the mucous that clogs your sinuses during a head cold. Just be sure you get completely dry after your shower and wear warm clothing so that your body won’t have to fight to keep you warm while fighting the cold.

Kitchen and Bath Home Remedy for Head Colds

If your throat is irritated, try a soothing gargle of salt water. This will calm the scratchy feeling and lubricate the throat while clearing out any mucous from post-nasal drip. You can also make your own gargle by boiling about a tablespoon of raspberry leaves, then letting it cool to room temperature and adding a teaspoon of honey.

There are to supplements you can take to shorten the duration of cold. These common home remedies for head colds are vitamin C and zinc. You can take up to 500 mg. of vitamin C four times a day until your cold symptoms are gone, but cut back to the normal recommended dosage when you’re fully recovered. Zinc lozenges will soothe your throat and work with your immune system to help combat the common cold. If you don’t like the metallic taste of zinc, try one of the natural zinc lozenge formulas that contain honey.

You can mix several common home remedies for head colds right in your kitchen. Warm ginger tea is simple and effective and you can enjoy a cup up to three times a day. You could also try squeezing the juice of one whole lime into a cup of warm water, stirring in a teaspoon of honey, and sipping in the morning or afternoon.

Those reliable favorites garlic and onion help shorten both the duration and severity of colds, so keep them in mind for cold relief. Try crushing a clove of garlic and mixing the juice with the juice from a quarter of an onion, then dilute them in a bit of water and take up to four times daily. The many antioxidants will improve immune system function and help combat the virus.

A teaspoon of turmeric powder stirred into on ounce or two or warm milk is an effective home remedy for head colds that has been used for generations. This is safe and gently enough for children and will shorten the length of their misery by several days.

If your sore throat continues and gargling isn’t help, try coating the throat with honey to calm the nerve receptors. Just two teaspoonfuls will work for an adult, coating the throat, promoting salivation and providing powerful antioxidants. For children, be sure to adjust the dosage down to the appropriate amount ( ½ teaspoon is sufficient for children around four years of age) and don’t give honey to children younger than one year old.

And don’t forget the chicken soup! It turns out your grandmother was right. Chicken soup is full of essential nutrients and antioxidants for the immune system and is soothing to a sore throat. The aroma and steam also help loosen up congestion and even helps with the minor aches and pains of a cold. Home remedies for head colds owe a lot to our ancestors, who have been treating head colds successfully at home for generations.

Impotence can be embarrassing and sap your self-confidence, but the truth is that impotence is a common situation for men that can often be treated easily. The first step should always be to see a doctor to make sure your ED isn’t caused by diabetes, an injury or a hormone imbalance. If you are suffering from occasional ED that is a normal part of aging, there are many home remedies for impotence that can help.

After the age of 45, as many as 25% of men suffer from occasional erectile dysfunction and many men experience it from time to time as young as age thirty. The most important home remedy for impotence is to take care of your health. Losing weight, getting plenty of sleep and avoiding alcohol may be enough to curb the symptoms of erectile dysfunction.

Adding more lean protein, such as chicken, fish and other lean meats, is one of the home remedies for impotence that can help. These proteins contain L-arginine, an amino acid essential to arousal. Although oysters aren’t the aphrodisiacs of legend, they do contain chemicals that aid in sexual stamina and improve blood circulation, both of which can help ED. Eating up to six oysters daily can give you real improvement.

Home remedies for impotence that are frequently recommended in the medical field include increasing your zinc intake. Taking between 15-30 mg daily will give you results you’ll notice within a few weeks.

If you’re interested in herbal home remedies for impotence, talk to a knowledgeable herbalist or homeopathic medicine professional for guidance. One popular home remedy for ED is Saw Palmetto, which you can find in most health food stores and herbal shops. Saw Palmetto naturally enhances the effects of testosterone, which can make a great deal of difference in your ability to achieve and maintain an erection. Siberian Ginseng is another popular herbal home remedy for erectile dysfunction that you can find in health food stores. Take either Saw Palmetto or Siberian Ginseng daily in moderate doses for the best results.

Home Remedy for Impotence

A popular African home remedy for impotence is the ground bark of the Yohimbe tree. Do your research with this one, though. It should only be taken in small doses and you do want to take the right amount for your weight to avoid side effects such as gastric problems. An herbal specialist who is familiar with Yohimbe bark can guide you.

Finally, keep in mind that the mind is the best aphrodisiac. If you are having occasional ED problems, try spicing things up with your partner. You could try new positions, take a romantic weekend trip together, or perhaps watch some videos together to add a sense of sexual adventure to your relationship. This may be all it takes to get rid of the boredom and your ED problems.

You may come across other products (such as shark’s fin) that are touted as home remedies for impotence, but steer clear of these. The more unusual or outlandish it seems, the less likely it is to work. Don’t trust your sexual performance to untested, mysterious ingredients that could be dangerous to your health.

There are lots of home remedies for tanning that can help you develop a rich, golden tan without resorting to the expensive, store-bought brands that have so many chemicals in them. If you’re looking for homemade tanning lotions, we’ve put together a few for you to try.

The simplest way to protect your skin from damaging UV rays is to mix powdered ascorbic acid (which is basically vitamin C) with olive oil. Mix it thoroughly and smooth over your skin to protect while tanning. Some people add a few drops of a floral essential oil such as lavender to improve the scent, but do NOT add any citrus essential oils, as they can lead to brown spots on your skin.

For a rich tanning lotion that still gives you some protection, try combining two tablespoons sesame oil, two tablespoons wheat germ oil, four tablespoons hazelnut oil and four tablespoons walnut oil. Add five drops of lavender essential oil and five drops ylang ylang essential oil and shake well. This is one of the best home remedies for tanning evenly and darkly without burning. You can keep this up to three months if it is refrigerated.

Another home remedy for tanning that protects and moisturizes while allowing you to tan is to combine four tablespoons each of avocado oil, hazelnut oil, wheat germ oil and sesame oil. Add six drops of calendula essential oil and four drops of patchouli essential oil. This homemade suntan lotion has a wonderful scent!

If your skin is particularly dry, try a home remedy for tanning that will also moisturize your skin. Blend together two tablespoons coconut oil with four tablespoons of sesame oil and one third cup of lanolin, then add four drops of peppermint oil. Keep this in a seal container in a cool, dark place. You should only make a single batch of this home remedy for tanning, as it has to be tossed after one week (you don’t want it to turn rancid). The light peppermint fragrance is invigorating and pleasant, and the lanolin gives you smooth, silky skin.

Iodine & Baby Oil – Home Remedy for Tanning

Of course, many people remember their mothers using iodine and baby oil to get a deep, rich tan quickly, but this is dangerous because it can lead to a severe sunburn. If you really need to get a dark tan quickly, try updating this old formula for safety. Mix one half cup of iodine and one half cup of baby oil with between one quarter and one half cup of sunscreen lotion. This will give you a tan much quicker than other formulas, but do NOT leave the sunscreen out.

The best home remedies for tanning problems are precautionary. Don’t spend too much time in the sun between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm when the sun is at its peak and can quickly lead to a burn. Never go out without applying some kind of sun protection, and always reapply your suntan lotion or sunscreen after swimming or sweating, as most of them aren’t waterproof.

If you try everything and still manage to get a sunburn, take a look at our home remedies for sunburn for some great ways to soothe the pain and prevent peeling.

If you’re feeling run down and tired, you aren’t alone. Lack of energy is one of the most common complaints heard by doctors. Usually you can start to feel yourself again after using some of our home remedies for energy loss, but do keep track of your fatigue. If it stretches on for weeks without letting up, you should have a complete physical.

For most of us, however, fatigue comes and goes and an occasional day of feeling like your energy has been sapped is nothing to worry about. There are several home remedies for energy that can give you the boost you need.

Cayenne and licorice root are both available in capsule form from health food stores and have a mild stimulating effect. Taking one or two when you feel your energy flagging can give you the boost you need to get things done.

Drinking fresh vegetable juice, alfalfa juice or barley grass juice can also give you some quick energy. These also have powerful antioxidants that will keep you healthier and boost your immune system, which can mean less fatigue down the road if you drink them regularly. Liquids in general can also combat fatigue, so drink lots of water throughout the day to avoid feeling tired. A particularly good home remedy for energy is a tall glass of grapefruit juice with the juice of one lemon added. It will not only give you energy, it’s very refreshing.

Supplements containing sarsaparilla, licorice or ginseng are great home remedies for energy, as they support proper adrenal function. Poor adrenal function is a key contributor to energy loss.

Another quick pick-me-up is a nice cup of herbal tea (avoid black tea, as the caffeine will give you jolt of energy that is followed by a let-down of fatigue). Add a quarter teaspoon of ground cardamom to your tea and sip whenever you’re feeling sluggish.

Long Term Home Remedy for Energy

To get your body back on track and restore lost energy for the long term, be careful with your diet. Avoid sugary and starchy foods and focus on lean meats and lots of leafy greens. Also include fresh fruit and juices in your diet. Many people who are fatigued are low in iron, so red meats are particularly important.

A daily nap can give you a burst of energy late in the day, but only if you keep it short. Your best bet is an afternoon nap around 3:00 that doesn’t last longer than 20 minutes to a half hour. You’ll wake up feeling refreshed but not sluggish if you try this home remedy for energy loss.

Although it may sound strange, meditation can help with energy loss. Meditation relieves stress, and stress is a key culprit in energy loss, so try recharging your batteries by taking fifteen minutes to meditate in the afternoon. You’ll be amazed by how much more energy you have after meditating!

Bee pollen or bee jelly is a powerful, natural food substance that has been shown to increase energy, alleviate chronic pain and improve the overall health of many individuals. Try taking bee pollen or bee jelly (sometimes referred to as royal jelly) every day for two weeks; you should start to feel more energy within a few days.

While all of these home remedies for energy will help, the most important thing to do is get plenty of sleep at night and eat a balanced healthy diet.

Heat rash, sometimes called prickly heat, is common in the hot summer months, particularly when it is humid. Although not dangerous, heat rash is uncomfortable and home remedies for heat rash can soothe the itch quickly.

Heat rash is caused by clogged sweat glands and looks like tiny red dots scattered over the skin that are itchy. Many people get prickly heat after exercising in synthetic clothing, and babies often get it under their diapers in warmer months. To prevent heat rash, wear loose, natural fiber clothing so your skin can breathe and try not to get overheated. Air conditioning is great at keeping prickly heat at bay.

If you do end up with this irritating rash, one of the best home remedies for heat rash is a soothing, cool shower. It should be cool enough to bring soothing relief without being a shock to your system. Use a gentle, antibacterial soap to cleanse the area, then let yourself air dry. Rubbing with a towel will only aggravate the itch, so lay down or sit back on a towel and let the air cool you off and dry you at the same time.

Soaking Home Remedies for Heat Rash

If you prefer a bath to a shower, another great home remedy for heat rash is baking soda. Simply stir a tablespoon of baking soda into a warm or tepid bath and soak, making sure you sponge the water over the rash. When you get out, air dry completely before getting dressed in fresh, clean clothing made of cotton or some other breathable fiber.

If you can’t take a shower or bath, soothe your heat rash with ice compresses. These are effective home remedies for heat rash if you apply them every four or five hours. Just wrap some ice in a towel and apply to the rash for about five minutes, then repeat in four hours.

Aloe Vera gel is another very good home remedy for heat rash. You can either break open the leaf of an aloe Vera plant or use pure aloe gel from a bottle (found at most drugstores). Smear a thin layer of the aloe gel on the heat rash and leave in place. You can apply this four times daily, but be sure to wash and completely dry the area before each application.

Home Remedy for Heat Rash

Applying a past of cornstarch and water is another excellent home remedy for heat rash. It will cool the heat and alleviate the itching as it dries on your skin. When it is completely dry, gently brush the mixture off without rubbing. If you are prone to heat rash and know you’ll be sweating during the day, you can also try dusting your skin with pure cornstarch, which is absorbent and soothing.

Most home remedies for heat rash work just as well on babies as on adults, but it can be more difficult to prevent prickly heat in infants since they are in diapers most of the time, which trap moisture next to the skin. If your baby has prickly heat, let her run around for an hour or two without her diaper on when possible. This will let the air cool and heal the skin more quickly. When you put her back in a diaper, dust her skin with cornstarch to keep heat rash at bay.

Dry eyes are an occasional nuisance for some people and a very uncomfortable, debilitating problem for others. Home remedies for dry eyes can alleviate the discomfort and help protect the eye from injury by aiding in the proper lubrication of the eye.

Dry eyes are usually environmental in nature and can be aggravated by looking at a computer or reading for too long without blinking enough, pollution, allergies, dry air or wearing your contacts for too long. That being said, home remedies can help, but avoiding these culprits is also important. Rest your eyes frequently and take your contacts out every few hours, and avoid too much hot air or wind in your face (for instance, aim the vents in your car away from your face).

There are many artificial tears on the market that you can try if your dry eyes are severe, but these can get expensive and may not be needed. For occasional bouts of dry eyes, try these home remedies first.

A warm, wet compress placed over the eyes for about five minutes will activate tear production. The warmth and moisture of a damp washcloth stimulates tear production and opens up the clogged tear ducts.

Cucumber slices straight from the refrigerator are an excellent way to cool the burning, itchy sensation of dry eyes. Just relax with a cool slice of cucumber over each eye and you’ll soon feel better. This home remedy for dry eyes relaxes the muscles around the eyes and stimulates the tear ducts. The scent is also a wonderful aromatherapy relaxation promoter.

If your tear ducts seem clogged or don’t tend to produce enough oil (tears are actually a combination of water, oil and mucous), try filling a small bowl with warm water and adding two or three drops of lavender oil (no more than three drops). Soak two cotton balls in the water and gently press out the excess liquid before placing over your eyes. This will soothe the dryness and the lavender oil will help balance the moisture and oil content of your tears.

Brewing some tea can also help. One of the best home remedies for dry eyes is to simply relax with a wet tea bag over each eye. The tannins in the tea leaves are very therapeutic.

Home Remedy for Dry Eye

If you are frequently bothered by dry, itching and irritated eyes, try taking daily supplements of Omega-3 or flaxseed oil to keep your eyes healthy and lubricated naturally.

Is the air in your home dry because of air conditioning or forced air heat? Then investing in a good humidifier can help alleviate dry eyes. Keeping the moisture balance in your house will not only help get rid of dry eyes, you’ll discover that you don’t have dry, itchy skin as often either.

Finally, if you wake up every day with extremely dry, irritated eyes, you may want to make a visit to the drugstore for some artificial tears salve. This is thicker than liquid artificial tears and will stay on the eyeball longer. Applying the salve will keep the eye lubricated throughout the night so that you wake up feeling fresher.

Home remedies for colitis focus primarily on easing the pain and aiding digestion so that your colon and intestines have time to heal, although there are a few actual home remedies for colitis that are natural soothing agents as well as curative during flare-ups.

Colitis causes pain and cramping, bloating, diarrhea (sometimes alternating with constipation) and bloody or loose stools. If you have periodic colitis flare-ups, there are many home remedies that can help you, but if you have a severe, acute attack or it is not getting any better after a few weeks, you should consult your doctor.

Preventative Home Remedy for Colitis

Eating an apple every day provides pectin, a fiber that’s relatively easy on the system, along with iron and phosphorus. All of these help prevent colitis and keep the colon healthy. Skip the skin and seeds, though, as these can cause irritation.

Most home remedies for colitis won’t work unless you also follow the right diet. Avoid fried foods, red meats, spicy foods and white bread. Your diet should be mild and easily digestible; foods that work best include rice, bananas, steamed vegetables, cottage cheese and yogurt.

Taking probiotics daily is another preventative home remedy for colitis. You can find these as capsules or get them in yogurts with active cultures. Following up your probiotics with a cup of fresh cabbage juice every day is one of the best ways to keep your colon healthy and avoid colitis.

When you take your multivitamin each day, add an extra dose of folate. Taking 400 mg of folate daily will ease colon problems and promote digestive health.

Home Remedies for Active Colitis

When you’re having a flare-up of colitis, try drinking coconut milk. Up to two cups of coconut milk each day will ease the cramping and bloating as well as calm colon spasms.

Your diet should be as bland and easily digestible as possible during a flare-up. Two of the best things you can eat are steamed apples and ripe bananas. Both of these are packed with nutrients, easy on the stomach and colon and will soothe the pain of colitis.

A one day juice fast is another terrific home remedy for colitis. If you can take the day off and relax, try fasting with no foods other than juice (you shouldn’t fast when you’re working, as you may feel light-headed or dizzy at times if you aren’t eating solid foods). Do NOT use citrus juices, as these will aggravate your symptoms. Choose papaya, cabbage or carrot juice and sip it throughout the day. The next day, add in bananas, steamed veggies and rice. You should feel much better by the third day.

If there is an herbalist or homeopathic practitioner near you, ask for drumstick plant juice, one of the best home remedies for colitis used in India. It’s an unusual name for a healing plant sometimes called Indian horseradish. Combine one teaspoon of drumstick plant juice with a teaspoon of honey and take three times daily, followed by a cup of coconut milk. You’ll have almost immediate alleviation of the cramping and pain as well as the bloating you sometimes experience with colitis.

You can also try steeping a teaspoon of Canadian fleabane leaves in one cup of boiled water for a half-hour in a glass container (don’t use metal) and allow it to cool. Strain out the leaves and add 20 drops of ocotillo bark tincture (any herbalist will carry this). Take a tablespoon with each meal and throughout the day until it is gone.

One of the best home remedies for colitis is also a simple cup of tea. Avoid black tea, and switch to chamomile, dandelion, papaya or slippery elm tea for a soothing drink you can have twice daily.

Above all, avoid raw vegetables and fruits and stress when your colitis acts up. A relaxing few days on a bland diet along with one of the above home remedies for colitis will soon have you feeling much better.

Most home remedies for tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, address how to tolerate the sound or learn to mask it because tinnitus is extremely difficult to get rid of. Take heart, however, as there are a few home remedies that seem to work for about half the people who have chronic ringing in the ears.

The first thing you should do if you have tinnitus is talk to your doctor and get a physical, particularly if the ringing is accompanied by dizziness or other symptoms. The tinnitus may be caused by high blood pressure or a disease that can cause complications. If you continue to have ringing in the ears after underlying problems have been eliminated, it’s time to take action.

Home Remedies for Coping With Tinnitus

Many people with tinnitus only notice the ringing in their ears at night or when it is quiet. If this is the case for, try masking the sound with “white noise” such as a static-filled radio station or a bit of background noise such as running water or a television with the volume turned very low. Sometimes this makes the ringing recede into the background where it is less troublesome.

You can also reduce the severity of tinnitus over time if you switch to a no caffeine, low fat diet with very few sugars. Cutting out alcohol can also help over time. Anyone with tinnitus should avoid taking aspirin, as it can increase the ringing in your ears.

Home Remedy to Alleviate Tinnitus

If your tinnitus is driving you crazy, try taking 300 mg of CoEnzyme Q-10 daily. You should begin to hear a difference in about two weeks. Eating pineapple daily also reduced inflammation of the ear canal, which can contribute to tinnitus.

One of the most popular home remedies for tinnitus is a simple spray you can make at home. Just stir one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of glycerin into a pint of warm water, then spray or squirt the mixture into each nostril until it runs down the back of the throat. After this, spray some toward the back of your throat to coat all surfaces. This bathes the ear canal and throat in a soothing anti-inflammatory. You can try this up to three times daily.

An ancient remedy that’s still very popular is the use of either maidenhair tree extract or ginkgo biloba extract. Dropping between 20-40 milligrams of either one of these into the ear canal every day for four to six weeks can bring about a major reduction of the noise of tinnitus.

If you can’t find these natural tree extracts at your local health food store or herbalist’s shop, try using sesame oil instead. Simply put one or two drops in each ear, lying with your head to the side until the oil gets down into the ear canal on each side.

Finally, consider giving your blood circulation a bit of a boost by soaking your feet alternately in cold and warm water, switching back and forth to each one at least twice. This will improve blood circulation and reduce the swelling in the blood vessels of your feet, reducing the ringing substantially.

These home remedies for tinnitus should minimize the amount of ringing of the ears you can hear to a manageable level or get rid of the sound completely.
